Is your school, or one of its organizations, looking for a fund raiser? If yes, you're in the right place. I make 2 color rope pet leashes custom made to match your school colors. This is not a "buy what you see on the rack" kind of place. I will make every effort to match the colors of the pet leashes to your school colors. The colors will have to meet your satisfaction before I will accept any orders from you.
Each rope leash contains 2 colors....and your customers get a choice from the 2 sytles available:
1) TWISTED (resembles a candy cane)
OR
2) SPECKLED (this is also a twisted rope, but the second color is 'speckled'
in) 
FACTS ABOUT THE ROPE PET LEASHES:
THE LEASH HANDLE
The leashes come to you with the end of the leash, the one without the snap hook, doubled over and tied in a very loose overhand knot. This forms the handle. It is tied loose so that the customer can make it smaller or larger to custom fit their hand. The knot can be completely untied to provide about another foot of leash length. Leashes are over 7 ft. long WITHOUT the handle - about 6 ft. long WITH the handle. Leash lengths will vary depending on how large of a handle you tie in it. All leashes are the same length coming off the rope making machine. Here is an example of what the handle will look like.
LEASH COST
Your cost is only $4.00 per leash plus shipping. The Twisted and Speckled leashes are the same price. There is a minimum order of 10 leashes - this can be 5 Twisted and 5 Speckled, or 2 Twisted and 8 Speckled, or any combination to equal AT LEAST 10 leashes. Suggested retail cost of these leashes is $8.00 - $10.00. You may want to charge even more. If you can get more than $10.00 per leash, that's great, but your cost remains at only $4.00 per leash. I think you'll agree with me that $4.00 is pretty reasonable for "custom made" AND "made by hand". Your customers will be getting a quality rope leash that will last a very long time.
ORDERING INFORMATION
I have 2 options for ordering your rope leashes. Once the colors for your leashes have been agreed upon you can choose one of the following options:
Option #1) You can order 10 or more leashes and sell them at your own pace. You may want to use this option if you plan to sell the leashes at various school functions during the school year where your customers get to physically see the leashes you are selling, pay for them and get to take them home right away. Under this option, payment for all the leashes, plus the shipping cost printed on the shipping box, is due when you recieve them.
Option #2) This option is if you have a class, or group, that will be approaching family, friends, and neighbors, trying to sell them each one or more leash. Collect the money for the leashes as you sell them. When your selling deadline arrives, you tally the total number of Twisted leashes and the total number of Speckled leashes. Contact me with the totals and I will make the leashes. When I finish your order, I will mail the leashes to you. When you recieve them, please send me your payment plus the shipping cost printed on the shipping box.
As part of Option #2, I will email you a color .jpg photo (FREE) of what YOUR Twisted and Speckled leashes will look like. You can then make as many copies as you have students in the class so they can show the prospective customers what their leash choices will look like. To see a SAMPLE Photo, CLICK HERE.
If it will help you (for Option #2), I can also email you a .pdf file of an order form (FREE) customized with your school name or organization. The order form is divided in half. One half is for your records and the other half is a customer reciept. You can make as many copies of the order form as you need. On your half, the student fills in the name, address, and phone number of the customer, the style(s) of leash they want, the quantity, and total amount paid by the customer. The customer reciept half has the name of your school or organization pre-printed on it. The student fills in the date, quantity and style(s) of leashes, the amount paid by the customer, and the seller's signature. To see a SAMPLE Order Form, CLICK HERE.
***Most orders for Options #1 and #2 should be ready and shipped within 2 weeks of your order date. Confirmation of this will be made at the time you place your order.
***(Orders for 100 or more leashes will require a 50% down payment. The balance, along with the shipping cost, will be due when you recieve your order. This applies to Options #1 AND #2.)
ABOUT THE ROPE MAKER
Les Vilda has been making quality ropes since 1988. He learned to make rope while in the Boy Scouts in the late 1960's. After nearly 20 years, during the mid-1980's, events brought Les back to making rope. Since 1988, Les has been teaching and/or demonstrating rope making at Scout meetings and camps, schools, festivals, county and state fairs, undergraduate and graduate college classes, museums, Mall of America (Bloomington, MN), Silver Dollar City (Branson, MO), libraries, historical societies, state parks, the Great Plains Chautauqua (Crete, NE) and numerous living history events all across the United States. In 1999, Les wrote the booklet "Rabi's Mountain Man Guide To: Making Rope". Les attended the National Rope Makers Convention in 2004 and 2005 and co-coordinated the event in Crete, NE for 2006. During the 2005 Convention, Les was inducted into the American Rope Makers Guild with the title of "Master Rope Maker". Long story short, Les knows ropes.
